On May 29, the Yichang Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment published a public notice stating that Shilei New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. plans to invest 1 billion yuan in a project to build an annual production capacity of 60,000 tons of lithium hexafluorophosphate (LiPF6). Phase I is expected to be commissioned in 2027 with a capacity of 30,000 tons, and upon completion of Phase II in 2028, the total annual capacity of the plant will reach 60,000 tons.
