Recently, Putailai issued a public announcement stating its plan to invest in a lithium-ion battery separator manufacturing project with an annual production capacity of 7.2 billion square meters, with a total planned investment of 5.6 billion yuan. The project will be implemented in two phases. Phase I involves an investment of 2.6 billion yuan to construct 8 base film production lines on existing land, which upon completion will achieve an annual production capacity of 3.2 billion square meters of lithium-ion battery separators. This phase is scheduled to be finished and commence trial production within 2027. Phase II has a total investment of 3 billion yuan, for which land will be purchased in Qionglai City to build another 8 base film production lines, resulting in an annual production capacity of 4 billion square meters of lithium-ion battery separators. This phase is planned to be completed and put into operation in the first quarter of 2028.
