Business Society: This week, liquefied ammonia continues to rise, with an increased increase.
Published on 2025-11-14
This week (November 10-14), domestic ammonia prices continued their upward trend from last week, according to the commodity market analysis system of the Business Society. The price increase in Shandong area reached 3.33% during the week, showing a strong performance. The main reasons are the environmental protection production restrictions in the north, the supply benefits due to local regional plant maintenance, and the linkage factors between downstream demand improvement driving the continuation of the domestic ammonia price rise. Currently, the mainstream price of ammonia in Shandong area is between 2400-2600 yuan/ton. In terms of supply, this week, the supply and demand pattern continued to change, with a tight supply situation. In northern main producing areas, some provinces have implemented environmental protection production restrictions, leading to a decrease in enterprise operating rates. Coupled with some units still under maintenance, there was a decline in supply volume. Additionally, due to impacts from Hebei and Shanxi, regions like Northwest and Inner Mongolia saw price movements in sync, while Southwest gas-head ammonia enterprises reduced production and operated at reduced capacity, leading to a slight increase in price. This week, manufacturers in Shandong area increased prices by 100-200 yuan/ton, with prices increasing to varying degrees from the beginning to the end of the week. The market showed a supply shortage. From the demand side, downstream demand slightly improved, including continuous improvement in the operating rate of compound fertilizers, which maintained a strong demand for urea; especially, downstream nitric acid demand showed a stronger upward trend, and acid enterprises increased operation rates, significantly enhancing demand for ammonia. Overall, agricultural demand for purchase has significantly increased, while industrial demands remain strong, with demand moderately rising. Downstream urea also continued to recover, as indicated by the Business Society's commodity analysis system, with a 0.46% increase in prices this week, and an enhanced ability to accept goods, often buying on low prices. Market forecast: According to analysts from the Business Society, the primary reason for the rise in ammonia prices this week was the favorable conditions in the supply side. However, next week, the return to work of maintenance units in the north may alleviate the tension in supply, and it is expected that the potential for further price increases will be limited.
