Chempricehub Alert: Analysis of Increased Supply from Sierte Phosphate-Fluoride Industrial Park
Published on 2026-01-15
January 15 - On January 13, Guizhou Sierte New Energy Materials Technology Co., Ltd. invested 1.724 billion yuan to establish a phosphorus-fluorine new materials mining and chemical integration industrial park in Kaiyang County, Guiyang City. The project primarily produces 100,000 tons/year of industrial-grade phosphoric acid and 50,000 tons/year of potassium dihydrogen phosphate, supported by phosphorus ore pretreatment, acid production, and phosphoric acid purification facilities. Additionally, by-products will be comprehensively utilized to produce sodium fluorosilicate and phosphorus-based fire extinguishing agents. Chempricehub Analysis: Industrial-Grade Phosphoric Acid, Bull-Bear Score: -1 The addition of 100,000 tons/year of new capacity is expected to increase supply, leading to a looser market supply-demand balance and exerting downward pressure on spot prices. The score is -1 (mildly bearish), as capacity expansion may intensify competition, though a comprehensive assessment should also consider changes in demand. Potassium Dihydrogen Phosphate, Bull-Bear Score: -1 The project adds 50,000 tons/year of new capacity, and the increased supply may lower spot prices. The score is -1 (mildly bearish), as this product is mainly used in fertilizers and industrial applications. The additional supply could pose a risk of market oversupply, though the extent of the impact is constrained by downstream demand. Sodium Fluorosilicate, Bull-Bear Score: -0.5 As a by-product, increased supply has a mildly bearish impact on spot prices. The score is -0.5, as sodium fluorosilicate is primarily used as a chemical auxiliary. Although the additional supply is limited, it may intensify pressure on market balance, and attention should be paid to the actual scale of by-product output. Phosphorus-Based Fire Extinguishing Agents, Bull-Bear Score: -0.5 Increased production of by-products adds to supply, exerting slight downward pressure on spot prices. The score is -0.5, as the market for phosphorus-based fire extinguishing agents is relatively niche. The additional supply may lead to localized price competition, but the overall impact is limited and should be assessed in conjunction with industry demand dynamics.
