Chempricehub Alert: Diethylene Glycol Shipments Decrease, Inventories Remain High
Published on 2026-02-04
February 4th News On February 2nd, the total shipment of diethylene glycol (DEG) from the two storage areas in Zhangjiagang amounted to 1,187 tons, a decrease of 315 tons compared to the previous day. As of now, the inventory at Vopak stands at 11,400 tons, with Changjiang International announcing its inventory every Monday. Chempricehub's analysis of diethylene glycol indicates a bearish sentiment score of -1. The report highlights that on February 2nd, the total shipment of DEG from the two storage areas in Zhangjiagang was 1,187 tons, a reduction of 315 tons (approximately 26.5%) from the previous day, signaling a significant weakening in downstream demand. With Vopak's inventory at 11,400 tons, supply remains ample, potentially exacerbating the oversupply situation in the market. This is expected to exert downward pressure on the spot price of diethylene glycol, with prices likely to remain under pressure in the short term, dominated by bearish factors.
