Chempricehub Alert: Progress of Yulin Energy Acrylic Acid Project in Shaanxi
Published on 2026-01-29
January 23 - Recently, the Yulin Energy Yulin Acrylic Acid Project in Shaanxi has made a breakthrough, with the installation of non-standard tank bodies completed and the main steel structure topped out, marking the conclusion of the main construction of the plant. This project is part of Yulin Energy's 1 million tons/year high-end new materials initiative, covering an area of 1,500 acres with a total investment of 10.3 billion yuan. It includes multiple units and public auxiliary facilities such as acrylic acid and esters, ethylene oxide, with an annual consumption of 269,000 tons of standard coal. Chempricehub's analysis of acrylic acid gives a long-short score: -1. The completion of the main construction of the project indicates that the 1 million tons/year capacity is about to be released, strengthening expectations of increased supply. This will lead to a rise in market supply, exerting downward pressure on spot prices, which is generally considered a bearish influence. Acrylic esters, with a long-short score: -1, are important derivatives included in the project. The simultaneous completion of the acrylic ester unit will directly increase supply through capacity expansion. The market supply-demand balance may tilt toward surplus, suppressing spot prices, with a generally significant bearish impact. Ethylene oxide, with a long-short score: -1, is also involved in the project. The release of capacity will increase supply. Against the backdrop of no synchronous growth in demand, the spot market may face surplus pressure, exacerbating the risk of price declines, with a clear generally bearish influence.
