ChemPriceHub Alert: Wanhua Chemical Styrene Price Increase
Published on 2026-01-05
On the 5th, Wanhua Chemical Group Co., Ltd. increased the styrene price in East China by 50 yuan/ton, with the latest quotation at 7,000 yuan/ton. In North China, the styrene price was also raised by 50 yuan/ton, with the latest quotation at 6,850 yuan/ton, and sales remained stable. PriceSeek's analysis of styrene indicates a bullish-bearish score of 1. Wanhua Chemical raised the spot price of styrene by 50 yuan/ton in both East China and North China to 7,000 yuan/ton and 6,850 yuan/ton, respectively, with stable sales. This suggests that the supply side proactively adjusted prices, reflecting tight market supply and demand or strengthened cost support, which is favorable for spot prices. Combined with data from the Dalian Commodity Exchange styrene futures contracts, such as the closing price of the 2605 contract at 6,912 yuan/ton (up 22 yuan), the recent trend in the main contract prices has shown a moderate increase. This spot price adjustment may reinforce market bullish sentiment and provide support for futures prices, with expectations of a continued strong trend in the futures market in the short term.
