April 2 News — On April 1, the closing price of styrene in the Asian market fell by USD 90 per ton, settling at USD 1,315–1,325 per ton FOB Korea and USD 1,290–1,300 per ton CFR China. Chempricehub's analysis of styrene gave a bearish score of -2. The report noted that spot prices of styrene dropped by USD 90 per ton, with both FOB Korea and CFR China prices showing significant declines, reflecting oversupply or weak demand in the Asian market, which is bearish for spot prices. Combined with futures data, the main styrene contract 2605 closed at CNY 9,856 per ton, down CNY 353, with a settlement price of CNY 10,288. Trading volume reached 885,149 lots, while open interest decreased by 16,331 lots, indicating a simultaneous decline in the futures market and capital outflow, reinforcing bearish expectations. Overall, the substantial price drop and worsening supply-demand imbalance constitute a significant bearish impact.
