Chempricehub indicates: limited arrivals of diethylene glycol (DEG) at ports, with a slight inventory drawdown expected.
Published on 2026-05-12

On May 12, Zhangjiagang plans to receive an arrival of 3,770 tons of diethylene glycol for the week of May 12–18. The operating rate of downstream unsaturated polyester resin is gradually picking up, leading to an increase in shipments from the main port. Combined with the relatively low arrival volume this week, the inventory at East China's main port is expected to see a slight decline. According to Chempricehub’s analysis of diethylene glycol, the bullish-bearish rating is as follows: Supply side — the planned arrival volume at Zhangjiagang this week is only 3,770 tons, which is at a low level; demand side — the operating rate of downstream unsaturated polyester resin is increasing slowly, and shipments from the main port have risen. The supply-demand fundamentals are showing marginal improvement, and inventory at East China's main terminal is expected to decrease slightly, providing mild positive support for spot prices of diethylene glycol. Overall, this is considered a general positive factor.
