Chempricehub Key Alert: Wanhua Chemical Raises Styrene Prices
Published on 2026-03-06
March 6th News — On the 6th, Wanhua Chemical Group Co., Ltd. raised the spot price of styrene in East China by 400 yuan/ton, with the latest quotation at 9,300 yuan/ton. In North China, the spot price of styrene was also increased by 400 yuan/ton, with the latest quotation at 9,200 yuan/ton. Sales remained steady. Chempricehub's analysis of styrene shows a bullish-bearish score of +1.5. Wanhua Chemical raised its spot quotations for styrene in East China and North China by 400 yuan/ton to 9,300 yuan/ton and 9,200 yuan/ton, respectively, indicating tight supply or cost-driven factors leading to a significant increase in spot prices. Steady sales suggest stable demand support. Combined with styrene futures data, the main contract 2605 closed at 8,573 yuan/ton on March 5, 2026 (up 290 yuan). The substantial increase in spot prices may strengthen market bullish expectations, driving up futures prices, especially for near-month contracts, which could continue their upward trend. The score is +1.5, as a 400 yuan/ton increase is considered a significant positive factor, but steady sales limit expectations of extreme shortages, making the bullish impact slightly lower than the highest level.
