Chempricehub Key Reminder: Global ethanol exports surge dramatically, accelerating the substitution of biofuels.

Published on 2026-07-08

Chempricehub, July 8
In the first half of 2026, ethanol exports from the U.S. and Brazil surged significantly: exports from the world’s two largest ethanol producers rose by approximately 20% year-on-year. Geopolitical conflicts pushed crude oil prices higher, prompting many countries to accelerate biofuel substitution. Sugarcane ethanol (Brazil) and corn ethanol (U.S.) are being shipped in large volumes to Southeast Asia and Europe, boosting global ethanol trade activity.
