April 3, 2024 – On April 3, the mainstream ex-factory price of 52% fully water-soluble powder was quoted at 4,200–4,300 yuan/ton. Sulfuric acid prices rose sharply, putting pressure on the production costs of potassium sulfate enterprises using the Mannheim process. The operating rate remained at around 40%–45%. Chempricehub's analysis of potassium sulfate gave a bullish-bearish score of 1.5. The significant increase in sulfuric acid prices has led to a notable rise in production costs for potassium sulfate enterprises employing the Mannheim process. With the operating rate maintained at a low level of 40%–45%, supply constraints may drive up spot prices. The current mainstream ex-factory price is 4,200–4,300 yuan/ton. Under cost pressure, enterprises may be forced to raise prices to maintain profitability, which is favorable for the spot market.
