In East China, the mainstream spot quotation range for xylene stood at RMB 8,060-8,100/ton, up RMB 20/ton from the previous trading day. Recently, spot prices for toluene and xylene have advanced, supported by persistently firmer crude oil overnight. Combined with a tight domestic spot supply of the two benzene products, holders were largely reluctant to sell and strongly inclined to hold prices firm. Downstream buyers, however, maintained need-based procurement, keeping spot prices fluctuating at high levels.
