On January 4, the quotation for soda ash in Central China showed that the mainstream market price for light soda ash was around 1,120–1,180 yuan/ton, down by 20–40 yuan/ton; the mainstream market price for heavy soda ash was around 1,200–1,300 yuan/ton, down by 100 yuan/ton. Downstream demand for soda ash remained rigid, with a subdued market transaction atmosphere. Inventory on the supply side increased, and industry participants held a bearish outlook. The soda ash market in Central China exhibited a weak downward trend.
