Phthalic anhydride manufacturers have ramped up equipment operations, leading to a rise in the operating rate of phthalic anhydride production. The domestic phthalic anhydride market currently has ample spot supply. Due to the intensification of conflicts in the Middle East, crude oil prices have surged significantly, resulting in a sharp increase in the prices of raw materials such as ortho-xylene and industrial naphthalene, thereby driving up the production costs of phthalic anhydride. Meanwhile, the market for downstream plasticizers has also seen an uptick, with plasticizer enterprises increasing their operating loads, which continues to support the demand for phthalic anhydride. Downstream industries are purchasing based on rigid demand, and it is expected that the phthalic anhydride market will experience further price increases in the near future.
