Acrylic Acid Market Weekly Outlook (September 20, 2026)

Published on 2026-09-20

I. Key Points

  1. On the previous business day, Shandong propylene market prices declined significantly. The mainstream closing reference price was 9,650–9,700 RMB/ton, with an average of 9,675 RMB/ton, down by 110 RMB/ton compared to the previous business day. Lacking positive catalysts, downstream buyers remained largely in a wait-and-see mode, continuously pressuring producers' shipments. Offers were primarily adjusted downward with discounts. Trading activity at high price levels remained sluggish, with actual transaction focus shifting toward mid-to-low price ranges.

  2. On the previous business day, Jiangsu n-butanol market prices referenced 8,800–8,850 RMB/ton ex-warehouse. The market remained flat and consolidating, with heightened wait-and-see sentiment. Supply availability was limited, and downstream procurement was driven mainly by rigid demand.

Unit: RMB/ton

Propylene feedstock cost dropping 110 RMB/ton signals weak downstream demand, pressuring acrylic acid margins. With buyers in wait-and-see mode and rigid procurement for n-butanol, capacity utilization may dip. I expect ..
