In June 2026, China’s sulfur output stood at 815,700 tons, down 187,100 tons from the previous month, representing a month-on-month decrease of 18.66% and a year-on-year decrease of 11.59%.

2. Production Trend Forecast and Analysis

In July 2026, some enterprises that had been under maintenance are expected to resume production, while the large refining and petrochemical plant in Lianyungang will undergo a scheduled shutdown for maintenance. Domestic production is expected to remain broadly stable in July, with a slight overall increase.

3. Comparison of Production Trend and Product Price

In June 2026, China’s monthly sample sulfur production declined by 18.66% month-on-month. As a by-product, sulfur is mainly derived from crude oil, natural gas, and coal, and has a low correlation with its own price; production is chiefly influenced by maintenance schedules at producer plants and the sulfur content of feedstocks. On the supply side, the Northeast Sichuan gas field and Shaanxi Future Energy units were shut down for maintenance this month, while output from most units in East and South China decreased. As a result, overall domestic monthly production fell significantly.
