Petroleum benzene output reached 393,100 metric tons, down 7,500 metric tons from the previous cycle, or -1.87%. Capacity utilization was 65.45%, down 1.25 percentage points from the previous cycle. During this cycle, a reforming unit at Yulong Petrochemical and units at Zhanjiang Dongxing were shut down.
The domestic operating rate of benzene hydrogenation units was 63.97%, up 0.21 percentage points from last week. China’s weekly output of hydrogenated benzene was 84,900 metric tons, up 300 metric tons from the previous week. During the week, Henan Yutian returned to normal operation, while Henan Jinyuan Phase II and Tangshan Dimu units were restarted. Henan Shoushan, Puyang Ouya, Inner Mongolia Qinghua, and Hebei Rongte units were shut down.
For styrene, a 60,000 metric ton/year unit in South China entered shutdown for maintenance, and some units in Shandong, Anhui, and South China reduced output loads. Meanwhile, a POSM unit in Zhejiang saw its load drop because of a sudden minor fault. The production losses from these shutdowns and load reductions led to slight declines in both weekly styrene output and capacity utilization.
For aniline, BASF Shanghai and Jiangsu Fuqiang restarted, while one unit at Dongying Jinmao underwent catalyst replacement. For adipic acid, Hengli was running at full capacity, and some Shenma units resumed operation. Caprolactam units operated stably. For phenol, Yangzhou Shiyou’s phenol/acetone unit had a longer stable operating run in the current period, while Huizhou Zhongxin’s Phase II phenol/acetone unit was shut down for maintenance.
