Petroleum benzene output was 424,700 tonnes, up 5,700 tonnes period-on-period, an increase of 1.36%; capacity utilization was 70.58%, up 0.95 percentage points from the previous period. During the period, the reforming unit at Wantong Petrochemical, the reforming unit at Fuhaichuang, and one aromatics unit, among other units, restarted, while the reforming unit at Renqiu Petrochemical and other units were shut down.
The operating rate of domestic benzene hydrogenation units was 57.60%, down 6.32 percentage points from last week. This week, China's weekly hydrogenated benzene output was 76,400 tonnes, down 8,400 tonnes from last week. During the week, Hebei Minhai's unit restarted; Ansteel Chemical, Hebei Rongte, Hebei Ruixin Jinhua, and Shandong Huineng Phase I units all shut down; Jinyuan Phase II had a brief shutdown; and unit loads at Zhanhua Yukai, Ningxia Baoting, Ningxia Tongde Aixin, Shandong Wanshan, and Zaozhuang Zhenxing decreased by 20–30%.
This week, capacity utilization rates of major downstream products—styrene, caprolactam, adipic acid, and aniline—increased from the previous period, while phenol capacity utilization remained stable. The Anqing Petrochemical styrene unit was shut down, and the Chambroad Sida Rui styrene unit completed restart. For phenol, the Huizhou Zhongxin phenol/acetone unit resumed after a brief shutdown, and the Moyiwei Chemical (Shanghai) phenol/acetone unit restarted. For caprolactam, Lunan shut down for maintenance, Luxi Phase III restarted, and Tianchen Yaolong resumed. For aniline, Dongying Caijin raised operations to full load. For adipic acid, the Haoyuan unit's operating rate increased.
Next period, considering recent maintenance and restart activities, capacity utilization rates for styrene, phenol, caprolactam, and aniline are expected to rise, while adipic acid capacity utilization is expected to fall.
