Chempricehub Alert: Analysis of Ethylene Glycol Outbound Volume at East China Ports on May 14
Published on 2026-05-15

On May 15, as of May 14, 2026, the outbound volume of ethylene glycol from major ports in East China was as follows: On May 14, the shipment volume of ethylene glycol from the main bonded warehouse in Zhangjiagang was approximately 3,100 tons; the shipment volume from the two main bonded warehouses in Taicang was approximately 1,300 tons. Chempricehub's assessment of ethylene glycol gives a bullish/bearish score of -1. In terms of spot market, on May 14, 2026, the total outbound volume of ethylene glycol from the main bonded warehouses in Zhangjiagang and Taicang, East China, was about 4,400 tons. The outbound level was relatively low, reflecting weak downstream purchasing willingness and insufficient demand-side support, which is bearish for spot prices. In terms of futures, the main ethylene glycol contract (2609) on the Dalian Commodity Exchange closed at 4,691 yuan per ton on May 14, down 90 yuan per ton from the previous trading day. Trading volume was 336,000 lots, and open interest increased by 11,500 lots, with a clear increase in short positions, putting downward pressure on futures prices.
