ChemPriceHub Alert: Fluctuations in Caustic Soda Spot Prices in Southwest Shandong

Published on 2026-02-11

On February 10th, the mainstream transaction price for 32% ion-exchange membrane caustic soda in southwestern Shandong was 560-620 yuan/ton; in eastern central Shandong, it was 550-625 yuan/ton; in northern Shandong, it was 550-620 yuan/ton; and in southern Shandong, it was 620-630 yuan/ton. PriceSeek's analysis of caustic soda, with a bullish-bearish score of 1, indicates that on February 10th, the mainstream spot transaction prices for 32% ion-exchange membrane caustic soda in southwestern, eastern central, northern, and southern Shandong ranged from 550 to 630 yuan/ton. Regional differences were minimal, with overall prices remaining stable and no clear signals of price increases or declines, resulting in a neutral impact on the spot market.

Combined with the latest futures data, caustic soda futures contracts (e.g., the 2610 contract closed at 2,360 yuan/ton, up 48 yuan; the 2605 contract closed at 2,163 yuan/ton, up 42 yuan) generally showed an upward trend. Changes in open interest indicate increased market confidence, reflecting tightening supply or improved demand expectations, which is favorable for futures prices. The bullish sentiment in the futures market may spill over into the spot market, driving future price increases, thus warranting a generally favorable rating.
