Chempricehub Analysis of 1,4-Butanediol, Bull-Bear Score: +1
Ruifeng High-Tech is modifying its production line to add 30,000 tons of PETG/PCTG capacity, which will be commissioned by mid-2026. The production of PETG/PCTG requires 1,4-butanediol as a core raw material (accounting for approximately 30%–40% of the composition). The additional capacity will significantly increase the spot demand for 1,4-butanediol. Based on an estimated consumption of 0.4 tons of 1,4-butanediol per ton of PETG, the project is expected to generate an additional annual raw material demand of approximately 12,000 tons after commissioning. Against the backdrop of the current tight supply-demand balance, this constitutes a clear positive factor. However, considering the relatively long commissioning timeline of the project and the absence of futures market data, short-term price drivers will still be primarily influenced by the actual procurement pace in the spot market. Therefore, a moderate positive (+1) score is assigned.
