ChemPriceHub Alert: Sinopec's Listed Price for Xylene Increased
Published on 2026-01-16

On January 16, Sinopec South China Company announced the initial listed prices for xylene at the beginning of the month: Guangzhou Petrochemical's isomer grade is set at 5,900 yuan/ton, Maoming Petrochemical's isomer grade is set at 5,900 yuan/ton, and Sinochem Refining and Chemical's isomer grade is set at 5,900 yuan/ton. PriceSeek analysis of mixed xylene shows a long-short rating of 1. On January 16, Sinopec South China Company uniformly raised the initial listed price for xylene to 5,900 yuan/ton, covering major suppliers such as Guangzhou Petrochemical, Maoming Petrochemical, and Sinochem Refining and Chemical. This move indicates that suppliers anticipate tightening market supply and demand, likely due to stronger downstream demand or rising production costs, which directly supports spot prices. It is expected that spot prices will rise in the short term. Combined with PX (xylene) futures data (such as the settlement price of 7,204 yuan/ton for the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange 2609 contract), the current spot price is lower than the futures level. The increase in the listed price may narrow the basis, boost confidence in the futures market, and drive a moderate upward trend in futures prices.
