ChemPriceHub Alert: The auction transaction price of Yankuang methanol is relatively low.

Published on 2026-01-09

Methanol Auction Results of Yankuang Group on January 9: Yankuang Guohong's methanol auction concluded at a final price of 2,135 yuan/ton ex-factory cash payment. For Yulin Yankuang's methanol auction, the starting price was 1,840 yuan/ton ex-factory cash payment, with a volume of 3,000 tons, and the final price was 1,855 yuan/ton, with all lots sold. PriceSeek's analysis of methanol, with a long-short rating of -1: The auction prices of Yankuang Guohong methanol at 2,135 yuan/ton and Yulin Yankuang methanol at 1,855 yuan/ton were both lower than the settlement price of the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange methanol MA2605 contract on January 8, 2026, which was 2,243 yuan/ton. This indicates weak spot market demand and increased supply pressure, exerting downward pressure on spot prices. Combined with futures data, the MA2605 contract fell by 37 yuan to 2,243 yuan/ton the previous day. The low auction prices may reinforce bearish sentiment in the market, potentially dragging futures prices further down.
