China Butadiene Inventory Weekly Data Statistics (September 3–9, 2026)

This period (September 3–9, 2026), domestic butadiene inventories declined, with total sample inventories down 14.44% from the previous period. Sample enterprise inventories rose 9.44% week on week. Under high cost pressure, downstream enterprises’ willingness to purchase feedstock butadiene weakened, leading to a slight increase in enterprise inventories. Sample port inventories fell 27.48% week on week. During the week, arrivals of imported butadiene cargoes were limited, domestic trade supply was replenished slowly, and downstream feedstock inventories were consumed at a normal pace, resulting in a decline in port inventories.

Sample notes: Butadiene producer inventories cover inventories at PetroChina, Sinopec, and other enterprises, accounting for 45% of total domestic butadiene producer capacity. The producer sample comprises 19 enterprises.

Port butadiene inventories are sample inventories for East China, with 100% coverage of commercial tank farms. The port butadiene sample inventory comprises 9 tank farm samples, including 4 commercial tank farms and 5 enterprise feedstock tank farms.

Terminology: China’s butadiene producer and sample tank farm inventories are physical inventories, referring to the actual quantity of product held in storage at a given point in time.
