This week (September 4–10, 2026), the average capacity utilization rate of China’s caustic soda sample enterprises with a capacity of 100,000 tons and above was 77.8%, down 0.3 percentage points week-on-week. During the week, no chlor-alkali units were shut down for maintenance, while three units resumed from maintenance. By region, chlor-alkali loads increased in North China and Southwest China, and declined in Northwest China, Central China, and East China. In Shandong, the chlor-alkali load was 79.5% this week, up 0.2 percentage points week-on-week. Next week, one chlor-alkali unit is scheduled for maintenance and two are expected to restart; the national chlor-alkali load is estimated to recover to around 78.3% next week.
