China Caustic Soda Sample Enterprises Capacity Utilization Rate Weekly Data Statistics (20260903)

Published on 2026-09-08

This week (Aug 28–Sep 3, 2026), the average capacity utilization rate of China’s sample caustic soda enterprises with an annual capacity of 100,000 metric tons or above stood at 78.1%, up 1.0 percentage points week-on-week. During the week, five chlor-alkali units underwent maintenance, five units resumed operation after maintenance, and some load adjustments were made due to temporary impacts from liquid chlorine supply and power factors. Regionally, operating loads rose in Northwest, Central China, East China, and Northeast China, while they declined in North China and Southwest China. Among these, Shandong’s chlor-alkali operating load was 79.3% this week, up 0.5 percentage points week-on-week.

Looking ahead to next week, although no chlor-alkali unit maintenance is scheduled, some of this week’s maintenance was carried out toward the end of the period, which will lower the baseline chlor-alkali load at the beginning of next week—particularly evident in the Northwest. Next week, three units are expected to restart after maintenance, and the national chlor-alkali operating load is estimated to be around 77.9%.
