China Sulfuric Acid Sample Cost and Profit Weekly Data Analysis (20260904-0910)

Published on 2026-09-11

I. Qualitative Analysis of Sample Cost and Profit Trends

This week, liquid sulfur prices in East China underwent a slight adjustment. The reference price for liquid sulfur in East China is RMB 7,535/t; on this basis, the raw material cost of sulfur-based acid is approximately RMB 2,511.67/t. Sulfur steam offsets part of the expenses, but after factoring in water and electricity charges, labor costs and equipment depreciation, the cost of sulfur-based acid stands at RMB 2,413.35/t. The current reference price of sulfur-based acid in East China is RMB 2,150/t. Among the three acid production routes, sulfur-based acid records a profit of -RMB 234.77/t, ore-based acid -RMB 131/t, and smelting acid RMB 1,220/t.

Weekly Comparison of Raw Material Prices and Gross Profit for Sulfur-Based Acid in East China

Unit: RMB/t

Raw Material Sep 10 Sep 3 Change
Liquid sulfur 7535 7540 -5
Sulfur-based acid profit -234.77 -167.15 -67.62

II. Sample Cost Trend Forecast and Analysis

This week, China's domestic sulfur spot market fluctuated downward from a high level, with trading sentiment at the ports cooling noticeably. Some holders adjusted their offers downward to move cargo, and transaction prices drifted lower within a narrow range. In the domestic-produced market, prices moved both up and down in line with regional demand.

III. Product Sample Trends and Price Comparison

Raw material prices adjusted slightly, and profit margins have shifted a little of late. Cost and price movements may emerge going forward, keeping profits in a state of continual adjustment.

Sulfur-based acid margin at -RMB234.77/t signals feedstock cost pressure from liquid sulfur. I'd watch downstream demand and capacity utilization; near-term risk is further margin compression if sulfur stays firm.
