Producing one ton of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) requires approximately 1.7–1.9 tons of vinyl acetate, resulting in a theoretical weekly average cost of RMB 8,836.58 per ton for PVA. Based on Great Wall Energy & Chemical’s listed price of RMB 1,799, the theoretical gross margin—including crude methyl acetate—is RMB 2,643.42 per ton.
