[Bulk Commodity Price Index]
On January 6, the Bulk Commodity Price Index (BPI) stood at 908 points, up by 7 points from the previous day. Compared to the cycle high of 1,343 points (October 19, 2021), it has declined by 32.39%, while it has risen by 37.58% from the cycle low of 660 points (February 3, 2016).

According to price monitoring by Business Society, on January 6, 2026, among the bulk commodities listed in the price change ranking, 74 commodities showed a month-on-month increase. These were concentrated in the chemical sector (31 commodities) and the non-ferrous metals sector (12 commodities). Commodities with price increases exceeding 5% were primarily in the chemical sector. The top three gainers were lithium carbonate-industrial grade (6.25%), lithium carbonate-battery grade (6.11%), and silver (5.18%).
Conversely, 40 commodities experienced a month-on-month decline, concentrated in the chemical sector (18 commodities) and the steel sector (11 commodities). Commodities with price declines exceeding 5% were mainly in the chemical sector. The top three decliners were fumaric acid (-11.46%), triethylene glycol butyl ether (-8.75%), and acrylonitrile (-2.48%).
