During this period, domestic DBP market prices edged lower. Early in the week, falling prices of raw materials—n-butanol and phthalic anhydride produced via the naphthalene process—reduced DBP production costs and weakened cost support. Simultaneously, downstream buyers showed less interest in procuring these raw materials, causing inquiries and transactions to slow down. Although overall DBP operating rates remained moderate-to-low and supply was limited in certain regions, providing some price support, transaction volumes failed to improve later in the week. Producers actively offered discounts to clear inventory, resulting in continuous volatile downward trends in market prices.
