Ethylene Glycol Industry Weekly Highlights (April 20–24, 2026)

  1. A 300,000-ton/year syngas-to-ethylene glycol unit in Guizhou began maintenance shutdown at the end of March and is set to resume production around this weekend, with products expected by then.

  2. Taiwan's Nan Ya Plastics' 360,000-ton/year No. 3 ethylene glycol unit remains shut down, with no confirmed restart timing.

  3. As of April 23, total MEG port inventory in East China's main ports stood at 843,000 tons, with details as follows: Zhangjiagang 467,000 tons, Taicang 276,000 tons, Jiangyin and Changzhou 55,000 tons, Shanghai and Changshu 45,000 tons. In terms of port dispatch this week, Zhangjiagang's average daily dispatch is 5,800 tons, while Taicang's is around 4,800 tons per day.

  4. By April 30, 2026, the total expected arrival volume of ethylene glycol at East China ports is approximately 8,000 tons, with 8,000 tons destined for Ningbo and no other arrivals planned for other warehouse areas; one shipment of about 37,000 tons is expected to be unloaded in late April/early May.
