A 300,000-ton/year syngas-based ethylene glycol plant in Guizhou started maintenance shutdown at the end of March, restarted in late April, and is currently running at around 50% load, slowly ramping up.
An 800,000-ton/year ethylene glycol plant in Zhejiang shut down for maintenance in mid-to-late April and is expected to restart during the May Day holiday.
As of April 27, total ethylene glycol (EG) inventory at major East China ports stood at 793,000 tons, down 50,000 tons from the previous period. Breakdown: Zhangjiagang 438,000 tons, Taicang 260,000 tons, Jiangyin and Changzhou 52,000 tons, Shanghai and Changshu 43,000 tons. Regarding shipments: weekly average daily shipment from Zhangjiagang was 9,800 tons, and from Taicang approximately 4,900 tons.
