A 1.8 million ton MEG plant in Northeast China is currently operating stably at 70-80% load. One of its 800,000 ton lines is scheduled for approximately 15 days of maintenance in the fourth quarter.
As of June 18, total MEG inventory at East China's main ports stood at 556,000 tons, down 31,000 tons from the previous period. A breakdown shows Zhangjiagang at 238,000 tons, Taicang at 215,000 tons, Jiangyin and Changzhou combined at 50,000 tons, and Shanghai and Changshu combined at 53,000 tons. In terms of shipments, daily dispatch from Zhangjiagang averaged 7,600 tons during the period, while Taicang averaged around 4,000 tons per day.
China's total MEG imports in May amounted to 200,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 43.66%.
