Oriental Union Chemical's 450,000-ton ethylene glycol plant has been shut down for maintenance since May 20, expected to last until late June.
Sinopec Hainan Refining & Chemical's 800,000-ton ethylene glycol plant has been shut down for maintenance since the end of May, with the restart time to be determined.
As of May 21, total ethylene glycol (EG) inventory at major ports in East China stood at 683,000 tons, an increase of 5,000 tons from the previous period. In detail: Zhangjiagang 390,000 tons, Taicang 191,000 tons, Jiangyin and Changzhou 52,000 tons, Shanghai and Changshu 50,000 tons. In terms of shipments: during the period, the average daily shipment from Zhangjiagang was 4,500 tons, and from Taicang was around 7,600–7,700 tons.
