An 800,000-ton/year MEG unit in East China restarted on May 2, and the load is currently stable. The unit had previously undergone a temporary shutdown in late April.
As of May 14, the total MEG inventory in East China’s main port areas stood at 704,000 tons, down by 23,000 tons from the previous period. In detail, Zhangjiagang had 404,000 tons, Taicang 200,000 tons, Jiangyin and Changzhou 40,000 tons, and Shanghai and Changshu 60,000 tons. In terms of shipments, average daily shipments during the period were 5,300 tons from Zhangjiagang and approximately 4,200 tons from Taicang.
Next week, inbound cargo to East China ports is estimated at 24,500 tons, all for Zhangjiagang, with no arrivals scheduled for other storage areas.
