Earlier this week, market sentiment suggested that butadiene prices in China remained weak, as downstream rubber producers faced cost constraints and Korean buyers imposed price ceilings on their procurement. Against this backdrop, traders began engaging with European suppliers to explore export opportunities. Market rumors indicated a spot bid for November loading shipments arriving in Asia by late December or early January at USD 1210/ton. Additionally, a combined Europe-US shipment scheduled for October loading was reported this week. In contrast, the domestic European market showed even softer activity. Producers reported insufficient spot demand; however, due to low operating rates of cracking units and downstream butadiene plants, some vendors had already sold out their October cargoes.
