Hongda Co., Ltd. Resumes Production of Phosphorus Chemical Plant; Zinc Smelting Maintenance Expected to Complete in June
Published on 2026-01-29

On January 28, Hongda Co., Ltd. announced that the phosphate series units at its Shifang Phosphorus Chemical Branch have completed their shutdown maintenance and equipment upgrades, resuming full production on the same day. Meanwhile, the maintenance and renovation of the zinc smelting units at the Shifang Nonferrous Metals Branch are progressing as planned, with production expected to resume in early June 2026.

It is reported that the Shifang Phosphorus Chemical Branch has an annual production capacity of 420,000 tons of monoammonium phosphate and 300,000 tons of compound fertilizers. The maintenance of the units began in early January and was originally scheduled for completion in early February. The early resumption of production will help ensure product supply during the peak spring farming season. The company’s phosphorus chemical products include agricultural and industrial-grade monoammonium phosphate as well as compound fertilizers. The "Yunding" brand enjoys high market recognition, and the industrial-grade monoammonium phosphate can meet the raw material demand for new energy batteries. The resumption of production is expected to benefit from the dual support of agricultural and new energy demand.

As an important part of the circular economy industrial chain, the company’s zinc smelting business currently has an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of electrolytic zinc and 100,000 tons of zinc alloy. The ongoing maintenance and renovation will optimize production processes and enhance equipment stability. Once both the zinc smelting and phosphorus chemical units resume normal operations, the company’s synergistic advantages in "zinc smelting + phosphorus chemical" will become more prominent, helping to alleviate previous operational losses.
