How does ATBC compare to traditional phthalate plasticizers in terms of safety and performance?
ATBC is positioned as a non-phthalate, environmentally friendly plasticizer that meets EU and US regulatory standards. Unlike phthalates, it does not contain ortho-phthalate structures, making it suitable for food contact materials, children's toys, and medical products. Its toxicological profile is considered benign at normal exposure levels, though recent research using network toxicology suggests potential neurotoxicity at high concentrations, with a migration rate roughly 10 times higher than phthalates. Performance-wise, ATBC provides good low-temperature flexibility, heat and light stability, and resistance to hydrolysis.
