What are the key applications and quality grades for tributyl O-acetylcitrate?
ATBC is a colorless, odorless, low-toxicity plasticizer used primarily in PVC, cellulose resins, and synthetic rubber. Its main applications are children's toys, food contact packaging, medical devices and packaging, and general plastic products. The product is typically sold in two grades: premium grade and first grade, differentiated by purity and performance specs. ATBC offers excellent low-temperature flexibility, heat stability, and hydrolysis resistance, even in boiling water. It is compatible with nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose, vinyl resins, and chlorinated rubber, but only partially compatible with cellulose acetate. Its FDA approval for food packaging and meat wrapping has made it a preferred non-phthalate choice in regulated markets. The plastic products segment accounts for over 87% of global consumption, with daily chemical and pharmaceutical applications making up the remainder.
