This means supply is tied to phosphate fertilizer output, not to dedicated fluorochemical plants. In China, producers are scattered across regions with phosphate operations, including East, Central, and Southwest areas. Demand is diversified: aluminum and magnesium smelting fluxes, potassium glass and optical glass, ceramics, pesticides, wood preservation, and as an intermediate for potassium fluoride. The product is classified as dangerous goods (UN2655, Class 6.1), which adds logistics costs and limits export flexibility. Market reports suggest steady but modest growth, with capacity expansions following phosphate industry trends rather than independent investment cycles.
