China's SDIC capacity is undergoing significant expansion, with several large projects underway or recently completed. Notable examples include Liaocheng Zhonglian Industrial's relocation project adding 40,000 t/y of SDIC alongside 80,000 t/y of trichloroisocyanuric acid (TCCA), and Hebei Liuhe Chemical's phase-two unit at 60,000 t/y SDIC, which passed acceptance in 2020 but has faced market-driven delays in downstream calcium chloride drying operations. These expansions are part of a broader chlorinated isocyanurate buildout driven by demand from water treatment, swimming pool sanitation, textile bleaching, and livestock disinfection. The market remains fragmented with regional producers like Shandong Jiajie integrating upstream cyanuric acid production to control costs. However, overcapacity risks loom as multiple projects target similar downstream segments, potentially pressuring prices and margins in the coming years.
