The average domestic price of isopropanol was 5,176.66 RMB/ton on January 1 and 5,716.67 RMB/ton on January 29, representing a price increase of 10.43% compared to the beginning of the month.
In early January, terminal procurement intentions were moderate, with traders operating cautiously and showing a clear reluctance to sell, leading to a stalemate in market prices. In mid-January, the rising price of upstream acetone provided cost support, boosting market confidence in isopropanol and driving prices upward. In late January, the isopropanol market continued its upward trend. Major manufacturers raised their quotations, and holders maintained a positive outlook, aligning their offers with the upward trend.
As of now, the majority of isopropanol market quotations in Shandong region are around 5,600–5,700 RMB/ton, while in Jiangsu region, they are around 5,700–5,800 RMB/ton.
II. Raw Material Market
Acetone: In January, the domestic acetone market price increased. The average price of acetone was 4,092.5 RMB/ton on January 1 and 4,800 RMB/ton on January 29, representing an increase of 17.29%. According to Business Society, the domestic acetone market is expected to remain strong with fluctuations in the short term, with manageable supply-side pressure and solid cost support.
Propylene: In January, the domestic propylene market price increased. The average market price was 5,717.67 RMB/ton on January 1 and 6,411 RMB/ton on January 29, representing an increase of 12.13%. Currently, supply remains tight, with low inventory levels among production enterprises. The market is expected to fluctuate within a narrow range.

Business Society’s isopropanol analyst from the Chemical Division believes that the isopropanol market price increased in January. Currently, raw material acetone and propylene prices remain high, providing strong cost support. Holders maintain a positive outlook, and manufacturers continue to raise prices. It is expected that the isopropanol market will remain strong in the short term, with close attention to raw material market trends.
