Market Trend Analysis of Toluene and Xylene on October 21

On October 21, Sinopec South China Company set the posted price for toluene at RMB 8,900 per ton. In the previous trading session, toluene and xylene prices trended upward amid volatility, supported by rising crude oil and aromatics prices, although downstream demand remained weak. Overnight, both crude oil and aromatics futures declined, dampening market sentiment. While tight domestic supply provided some support, downstream procurement activity continued to be sluggish. The spot market is expected to remain under pressure in the short term.
