Ministry of Commerce Spokesperson's Remarks on the Anti-Dumping Investigation into Dichlorodihydrogen Silicon Originating from Japan
Published on 2026-01-07

A journalist asked: We have noted that the Ministry of Commerce has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into dichlorosilane originating from Japan. Could you provide more details on this matter?
Answer: This investigation was initiated in response to an application from the domestic industry. Preliminary evidence submitted by the applicant shows that from 2022 to 2024, the volume of dichlorosilane imported from Japan has generally been on an upward trend, with its price cumulatively dropping by 31%. The dumped imports from Japan have caused damage to the production and operations of the domestic industry. After receiving the application, the investigating authority reviewed the application in accordance with China’s relevant laws and regulations and in compliance with WTO rules, and determined that the application met the conditions for initiating an anti-dumping investigation. Therefore, the decision was made to launch the investigation. The investigating authority will carry out the investigation in accordance with the law, fully safeguard the rights of all interested parties, and make an objective and fair ruling based on the investigation results.
