Monthly Data Statistics on China's Propylene Oxide Production and Units (September 2026)

Published on 2026-09-28

This month, China's propylene oxide (PO) production reached 545,000 tons, an increase of 45,200 tons from the previous month (+9.04%). Year-on-year growth was also recorded at +9.04%. Industry margins have shown some recovery compared to earlier periods. During the month, plant load rates gradually increased, leading to a significant rise in output and improved capacity utilization, which rose by 7.64 percentage points compared to August.

Sample Description: Data collected from 32 domestic PO enterprises, covering 100% of the sample scope.

Definitions:

  • PO Production: Refers to the quantity of products meeting quality standards actually produced by PO enterprises daily. This data is derived from theoretical calculations based on enterprise operating loads.
  • Capacity Utilization Rate: Indicates the degree of capacity usage, generally calculated as the ratio of product output or raw material processing volume to effective capacity.
  • Monthly PO Capacity Utilization Rate = Monthly PO Production / Monthly PO Capacity.

Statistical Scope: The statistical period covers calendar months, with publication occurring within the last three working days of each month.
