In August, acrylonitrile production and capacity utilization declined. Specifically, the domestic acrylonitrile industry capacity utilization rate was 67.5%, down 3.79 percentage points from the previous period and down 5.45 percentage points from the same period last year. Output during the period was 348,800 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 19,600 tons, or 5.32%, and a year-on-year decrease of 3.43%. The total acrylonitrile capacity base remained unchanged at 5.551 million tons/year.
