Morning Market Update: Domestic Fluorspar Wet Powder

Published on 2026-10-23

I. Key Highlights

  1. Market sentiment for 97% wet fluorspar powder remained conflicted across the board, with limited trading activity.
  2. The mainstream contract delivered price reference for anhydrous hydrogen fluoride in October was RMB 14,500–14,800/ton. In the Shandong market, the mainstream contract delivered price reference for anhydrous hydrogen fluoride was RMB 14,760–15,000/ton.
  3. Quotations from major producers for fluorocarbon refrigerant R32 remained firm, with operating rates hovering around 40–50%.

Core Logic: Chemical feedstock markets have recently adopted a cautious wait-and-see stance. Overall supply remains tight in the short term; however, persistent demand pullback is weighing on market participants' sentiment.

  2. All prices are inclusive of VAT and quoted on a delivered basis (Unit: RMB/ton).
  3. Price fluctuations are compared against the closing prices of the previous trading day.

III. Market Outlook

Yesterday, the domestic market for 97% fluorspar fine powder remained generally sluggish. Sentiment was dominated by a wait-and-see approach, with mixed expectations regarding price direction. In northern markets, cold weather has increased production and transportation costs on the supply side. Although downstream buyers have some stockpiling demand, most lack sufficient absorption capacity, leading to prolonged bargaining between suppliers and consumers. Conversely, southern markets were primarily driven by negative factors. Profit margins provided by hydrofluoric acid were already thin, and high sulfuric acid prices further squeezed profitability, directly suppressing potential upside for fluorspar.

Current spot delivered price references across domestic regions are as follows: Inner Mongolia at RMB 3,300–3,400/ton; Zhejiang at RMB 3,500–3,600/ton; Jiangxi and Fujian at RMB 3,700–3,750/ton; Shandong at RMB 3,550–3,650/ton; Northwest China at RMB 3,400–3,450/ton; Henan and Anhui at RMB 3,450–3,500/ton. As of press time, the mainstream delivered price range for domestic 97% wet fluorspar powder was RMB 3,300–3,750/ton.

IV. Data Table

Data Type Oct-21 Oct-22 Change Rate Weekly Expectation

Tight fluorspar supply clashes with weak downstream demand, keeping AHF prices steady. With R32 capacity utilization low, margins remain squeezed. I expect a cautious wait-and-see stance to persist until end-user orders ..
