On January 29, the phthalic anhydride market in Jiangsu region experienced a volatile and consolidating trend.

Published on 2026-01-29

On January 29, the price of phthalic anhydride in the Jiangsu region experienced fluctuating consolidation. The mainstream negotiation range for ortho-xylene-based products was 6,100–6,300 yuan/ton, while naphthalene-based products were quoted at 5,800–6,100 yuan/ton. Phthalic anhydride manufacturers maintained stable equipment operations, with the operating rate remaining low and steady. The domestic phthalic anhydride market had ample spot supply. The price of raw material ortho-xylene stabilized, while industrial naphthalene prices underwent consolidation, leading to a weakening of cost support for phthalic anhydride. Downstream plasticizer prices fluctuated upward, with plasticizer enterprises operating at stable capacity, providing continued demand support for phthalic anhydride. Downstream industries maintained rigid procurement, and the phthalic anhydride market is expected to consolidate in the near term.
