Based on the Henan region, DME prices closed today at 5,700 CNY/ton, remaining flat compared to the previous period. The domestic DME market operated steadily. With the startup of the Wansheng unit in Chongqing, supply tightness within the market has eased, allowing traders to purchase in an orderly manner. Other regions across the country also maintained stable operations. Chempricehub forecasts that DME market fluctuations will remain limited in the short term.
Methanol: Today, trading sentiment in the domestic methanol market shifted noticeably. Intraday futures initially surged before pulling back and consolidating at high levels. Near-term contracts followed demand-based trends with narrow basis adjustments, while far-month contracts showed slight strength. Market participants are closely monitoring the transmission of commodity futures volatility to the spot market. The inland market was relatively weak in the morning but strengthened in the afternoon following the release of bidding prices from downstream buyers in Northern Shandong, reigniting buying interest. In the short term, given that the supply-demand contradiction remains mild, the market is expected to consolidate slightly stronger. Additionally, attention should continue to be paid to fluctuations affecting certain domestic methanol projects.
